The Best Things

We visited Carter today, and it was by far the very best visit that we've had with him so far. He was awake, alert, and happy. It was the first time that I really felt like he was just a baby and not a sick baby. As I type this my heart swells at the thought of our little baby looking at me. Needless to say, it was really hard leaving him today. He was switched to a smaller oxygen mask, and the doctor really wants to start bottle feeds tomorrow. We're hoping that he can progress to that because we know that he would really like it.

Here's a video of him playing with Daddy. Check out Carter's awesome sneezing trick... who else can do that with one eye open?!
