Blessings And Goodbyes

Today was a truly blessed day.

We had the priest come to give Carter the Anointing of The Sick (also known as The Last Rites). The majority of our friends and family came up to say goodbye to the little guy, and we spent the entire day just celebrating Carter. It felt as though love was enveloping him, and I'm so glad that we got the chance to do that.

A photographer from Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep came and took some pictures. I can't wait to see them...especially some very sweet ones of Little C and his Daddy.

Carter looks as adorable as ever, and seems to be prepared for whatever is to come tomorrow.

We love you little Carter. Thank you for showing us what real love is. Of course we want you to stay with us in this life, but we understand if you feel that it's your time to move on. Thank you for choosing us to be your Mommy and Daddy, you have no idea how happy you have made us.

Many, many prayers. I am so glad that Carter can have his family around him this weekend. Family has always been so very important to me and I am glad it is important to you all too. <3 You have all been so very strong throughout this whole ordeal, I wish I was as strong as you are Heather because I'm sure you are much stronger than I.

Hi,

I was directed here from Isaac's blog. I became instantly enchanted with this little one from the first post(I went way, way back). I feel lucky to at least know him a little bit through this blog.

You are all in my thoughts and prayers. I agree that you are lucky and blessed to be chosen by God to hold Carter's hand through this journey.

God bless you all!

Isn't it amazing how we can know and love people we've never met beyond the internet? That is how I feel about you and your family. And of course Carter. I've been thinking about Carter and you all day, praying frequently.

Your writing is so full of grace, especially this post. It is so bittersweet, but at the same time seems to show peacefulness.

I'm glad that you had today. A day full of love with family, friends and your sweet baby Carter.

Continued prayers throughout the night and tomorrow. Tear filled prayers for increasing peace and comfort-as much as can be during this heartbreaking time. Pleading for healing hands to be placed upon Carter. Reminding our Lord of the many miracles that Jesus performed and asking for a miracle now.

If that is not in God's plan, we will all try to take solace in knowing that Carter will be free of the battles he has faced. And free from all pain or discomforts, only feeling his mommy, daddy and God's truest love.

In such a short amount of time Carter has touched many. It is impossible to look at his pictures and not smile at Carter's preciousness.

I also agree that a very special soul chose his parents and made a wonderful choice!

Love to you all...

I just came across Carter tonight, and it broke my heart. My daughter has been in the PICU for almost 2 weeks now on a vent. I know the struggles you have been facing, and I am so glad that you have found peace with your decision. Your family is amazing, and I just wanted to let you know that I will be thinking about you and your family today

Sending prayers for peace and comfort for your family and especially for Carter. For a little boy so young in age, he certainly has touched so many. Whatever God's will is in this, know that Carter has accomplished more in this lifetime time than many do in a thousand life times. His spirit is strong and he has enriched each and everyone of us to be as he is. God bless (April aka YingYang)
