Happy Birthday Carter Jay!
Dear Carter, I have to admit that today is really hard...on all of us. We are going to be doing a few fun things today to celebrate your birthday, and yesterday we did some cool things in your honor. I will be updating on all of it tomorrow, but wanted to share this video that I made for your birthday last year. We love you little sweetie, and are hoping there is one huge celebration for you up there in Heaven. Happy Birthday my little Bubba Jay.

My brother and sister-in-law ran with you yesterday in the Operation Smile 5k (Cody and Natalie whose little girl was born with a cleft lip) and I know they were very touched by the experiences you shared. My husband and I are way out in Texas but wished we could have been there yesterday to support all of you in raising funds. Thoughts are with your family today on Carter's birthday. I admire your strength in sharing Carter's story and your feelings--you are touching more lives than you may realize.

Happy birthday Carter! We never met you here but our daughter had a cleft lip too and one day we all hope to meet you in heaven when you are with your family again!
